Steve Jobs, Apple’s founder, famously crictised consultants for their lack of long-term accountability.

In a 1992 MIT lecture, he argued that consultants miss out on meaningful learning and growth because they do not own the results of their recommendations.

While we might not necessarily agree on Steve’s second remark about consultants’ learning and growth, it is a FACT that ‘CONSULTANTS’ are not responsible nor interested to take any form of ownership towards their client’s business, as they are usually hired on a short term basis for their ‘lip service’, providing only ‘recommendations’ and ‘insights’ without necessarilty executing them.
